Your Story · Informational project
A life is
worth keeping.
A thoughtful way to record the stories, memories, knowledge and turning points that make a person who they are.

The idea
More than
a biography.
Your Story is about making space for a person’s own account of their life—not just a list of dates and achievements, but the meaning attached to them.
It could become a book, a private digital archive, a collection of recorded conversations, or something shared gradually with family. The form should follow the person and the people who will live with the story.
How it could work
From a first memory to a whole life.
The process begins with conversation. A person talks in their own words, with prompts where useful and plenty of room for digression, correction and silence.
Recordings can be transcribed, gently edited and organised into chapters. Photographs, letters, places, music and the voices of other people can be connected to the story without taking it away from its author.
A possible story record
The structure is only a starting point. A good biography follows the person’s life rather than forcing it into a questionnaire.
Careful by design
The person
comes first.
Stories belong to the people who tell them. Any future version of this project would need clear consent, privacy choices, opportunities to correct the record and an honest account of where recordings and documents are kept.
Uncertainty matters too. Memories can conflict. Dates can be unclear. Family members can remember the same event differently. A useful life story can hold those differences rather than pretending they do not exist.
Where it stands
An idea
still becoming.
Your Story is currently an informational project, not an active commercial service. It sits alongside earlier work on Story Capture, Life Map, family memory and the preservation of personal knowledge.
The purpose is simple: help a person’s experience remain available, in their own voice, to the people and future selves that matter.
